The new Opus

For images of and from the old Studio. Now the new. I have been abroad for a couple of years and before I left Opus Studio was in Saltriver. Now its situated in the Silo District in the V&A Waterfront in a small yet practical space. Opus is a botanical florist and design studio founded in 2011 by Marissa Pretorius. I find it super exciting that Marissa was advertising and made the jump and started Opus. Gives one hope that you can also achieve different things than you set out at the beginning.
Opus specialises in hanging plants (they have a grand selection of large Kokedama in store), indoor plants and fresh flowers. They also do a lot of event catering and custom projects. I went for a visit and spoke to one of the florists who was very keen to discuss some of their current stock, projects and services.
The guys are very creative and always keen for a new challenge - indoor design projects or wedding events. If you can dream it they will do it.
I am glad that they seem to be doing well. If you search for Opus you will find that they have featured in:  Elle Decor, House & Leisure, Garden & Home, VISI magazine, Marie Claire, Remodelista, Gardenista and Martha Steward Weddings. Impressive.
The indoor gardening and green design scene is quite a small niche market and I hope that, because of businesses like Opus, it will continue to grow. And maybe leave small spaces for guys like me to fill.

Keep up the good work.
